    Lost or Stolen Devices

    The information in this article can help if a consumer or a law enforcement agency wants to report or research the theft or loss of a Nintendo device.

    Please note:

    • Product warranty does not cover lost or stolen items. Nintendo does not replace products that are stolen or missing.
    • For reports of found devices:
      • For persons who would like to report that they have found a Nintendo device: please understand that we are unable to provide any personal information about the person the device is registered to. Please turn the found device in to the lost-and-found or to a law enforcement agency/the police, who will send us a request for information about it in order to return the device to its rightful owner.
      • For a law enforcement agency/police officers that would like to report a found device: please get in contact with our customer service in order to receive further information and support. Please select the below option “Law enforcement agency (Police)”.

    Please note that if the lost/stolen device is associated with a supervised Nintendo Account, you will also need to provide the information regarding the Nintendo Account of the parent or legal guardian as listed in the "If your device was associated with a Nintendo Account" section (for more information, please see What Are the Different Roles in a Nintendo Account Family Group?).

    1. If you require a proof of ownership for your insurance company or to share with a law enforcement agency, please note that Nintendo cannot provide such information.
    1. You will need to report the loss/theft of your device to a law enforcement agency in order for Nintendo to share such personal information with them. Please get in contact with your local police department.
    1. Unfortunately, we are unable to remotely format a device or remotely block a Nintendo Account from being used.
